Minority rights, gender and good
governance
AIM 1: Empower minority
communities (women and men, boys
and girls) to achieve, exercise
and enjoy security,
socio-cultural, economic and
political rights and fully
participate in and influence
decision making at different
levels.
Objectives
• Promote qualitative change of
minority community through
Economic Empowerment and
Educational development.
• Promote social justice,
equality and tolerance inside
Somali societies and empower
minority
communities to enable them challenge and fight inequality,
injustice, social and economic
exclusion (discrimination).
• To increase political
representation of minority
communities at different levels
through
preferential policy, reservation or quota system.
• Advocate for the promotion and
protection of minority rights
• Research and monitor
violations and abuses of
minority rights and advocate for
legal
prosecution of perpetrators.
• Advocate for resettlement for
those whose life is at risk
(Protections).
• To reduce or eradicate
minority gender violence and
related life risks.
• Incorporate Minority rights in
the new Constitution
• Introduce new legislation
concerning atrocities committed
against Minorities.
• Counter Gender violence, sex
exploitation against minorities.
• Promote social inclusion and
empower cross inter-marriage
families.
